It's SPRING! Strawberries are usually ready to pick in late May or early June - - - and that is when our Market will open.  We have scheduled Strawberry Jam, our spring festival for the first weekend in June, the 3rd & 4th. Bill Bailey, with his hands-on rhythm workshop, is scheduled to participate both days.

In the Market

We grow produce for Central Indiana to take home to eat, freeze and preserve for enjoyment all year long.

In order to make sure all people have access to fresh food, Marion County WIC offers farmer's market vouchers that can be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables.  We are pleased to participate in this program that encourages consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables for pregnant and nursing mothers and children under 5 years of age.  These can be redeemed at our farm market during regular business hour, seven days/week.  This summer on Saturday, July 16th and September 17, 2016 representatives of the Health Department were at our farm to distribute vouchers to eligible people. Many people with young children were served on that day.  We make sure all people have access to healthy produce through this community collaboration. To determine whether you might be eligible for the WIC program, go to www.wic.in.gov or call 317-221-7401 to find a clinic near you.

(L-R) Lt. Gov. Sue Ellsperman, Taylor Waterman and Carol Waterman
at the announcement today of the Indiana Grown Initiative,
which took place at Waterman's Family Farm.

Indiana Grown will make it easier for consumers to find and purchase agricultural products grown, produced and processed in Indiana. The initiative will connect businesses that use or sell Indiana products -- such as restaurants, grocers, wholesalers, processors and farmer's markets -- with Indiana based producers. Look for Indiana Grown decals, kiosks and logos highlighting products grown, produced and processed in the Hoosier State.

We're pleased and proud that our farm was selected for this important announcement!
